My dear client Maryanne Karanja mentions here a “dream team”. And she’s right.. everyone needs a dream team .. to support them through the crazy moments and cheer them on when they are back in their path again.
Who is your dream team? And if you are unsure or feel you don’t have one, have you asked anyone to become your dream team buddy? Sometimes we don’t ask?
I once had a client who told me when her mum dies she had no support. And guess what? We reframed that, shed some limiting beliefs. She now has the most supportive boss, her husband kicked into supportive action and she told me she now sees her beloved late mum’s supportive energy in so many people.
Nothing is lost, it’s all within us.. it’s just how we see it! Just a perspective. That can be shifted and licked into place like Tupperware 😉💕
Time to find that dream team, become a buddy for someone, be your own dream team to YOU! See dream teams rather than bullies, critics. Where your focus goes energy flows. (Says one of my dream team, Brett Ellis)
No one does it alone -so why even try! If you need help GET it, it may be costly, date to invest in a good teacher, mentor, coach or give to your buddies and ask when you need sth. Learn to receive!

This process I used is called Time Line Therapy TM and it’s not just my business, not just my passion – it’s what saved me from taking anti – depressants and going into depression myself. I had list my job, been bullied, has an ex husband who manipulated me and cheated on me 9 times, I didn’t know WHO I was..
And yet know, hell yeah I can say I took charge of myself and changed from the inside out. Not by “luck” not by meeting the right people, not by magic but through a simple and most powerful proven science of the mind. HOW to learn and change the mechanics of your mind, therefore your thoughts, actions and reality.
I spent the last 13 or so years dedicated to improving my skills and knowledge in this field. I went to Australia and the USA and learnt from the best teachers from Germany and Holland. Not that these countries are superior .. but because it’s not widespread in Ke ya. It’s not easily available.
Let’s learn it in Kenya let’s share it in Kenya. Let our communities and country learn how to think our if the box and make things better ..

And I know this is EASIER said than done – the “happy” part!!!
A week ago I realised the year had raced past. December already?? what? how? I was a little under the weather and felt I couldn’t digest it all. Within just over a year two dear sweet friends had tragically lost their spouses. I was beginning to question a lot about the meaning of all these life changes.. and started to feel quite depressed.
It was overwhelming, I thought about the things I hadn’t yet done, I felt unsure if my choices were the right ones, I couldn’t even remember the good stuff or nor recognise my own achievements. I certainly didn’t want to “celebrate” JUST because its supposed to be the festive season! I became skeptical and self-doubting – and dreaded what would be looming ahead… because I was absolutely unable to see the big picture of the past 12 months, let alone “make goals” for 2019! Yikes!
Then I remembered that I have the most amazing tool, which I use annually.
So i I took myself into the garden with my big coloured markers and lots of flipchart paper and the magic began!
Through this beautiful coaching process I began to see all the miracles that I have encountered.. all the events and people that I needed to let go of and forgive. I allowed myself to come out of the numb state I was in and with compassion for myself I felt all the joy and all the sorrow that I had stuffed inside. I admired all the skills I had gained even if aquired through challenging uncomfortable situations – and I saw clearly all the pleasant and unplanned surprises.. I even heard the voices of all the amazing people who have encouraged and supported me directly and indirectly.
This is truly a gift and a skill worth having… I am so happy to have it… in NLP we call it “reframing”, other people call it “harvesting” .. and by using various coaching techniques we can permanently resolve the unfathomable, we can clean up our negative thoughts and feelings, we can clearly set our vision in the part of our minds that control 90% of our behaviour.. we can become still, present, connected and whole again – even when everything around us has been chaotic.. YES!
This is indeed a gift worth sharing with others and who best to facilitate it than someone called a Life Coach?!! Aha! I can show you the HOW of having a “Happy” New Year… for last year and this year!!

- Do you ever wonder why life is not going the way you want it to?
How many minds do we have?
Well some of you may know that we really are creating our reality.. whether we like it or not! Actually we are by default on “automatic pilot” mode and we are NOT in the drivers seat of our lives.
They say we have two minds, a conscious one and an unconscious one. The one we use most to make decisions, set goals and decide our future is the conscious one. eg. I will get fit, stop eating junk, meditate every morning or quit my job. The unconscious mind is a minefield of empowering resources as well as limitations and negative emotions such as fear and doubt etc
Now should the two minds we have engage in battle – have you ever experienced that inner conflict, a dilemma or simple indecisiveness? Well should they conflict.. guess which mind will win hands down? Thats right.. its the unconscious mind.. it wins 9 times out of 10!
So the question I kept asking myself is “Why didn’t they teach us this at school?” and “how come they never taught us how to handle our two minds, our strong emotions, our thought patterns? I still ask and I am still wondering…
Whats an empowering mindset?
Wondering is actually a key principle – when we get very curious about ourselves, our behaviours, about why we do what we do and HOW we can get into that driver’s seat of ours and take control so that WE can win the battle, we can walk our talk and we can get what we want in our career, finance, relationship, health and personal life!
Why am I writing this to you?
The tools and tips I will be offering you are not intended to give you a full overhaul or a detox of the past.. nor are they intended to fully resolve your biggest issues.. I usually offer full breakthrough coaching programs in person for that kind of work as some of you know!
However these exercises that i suggest may indeed give you a drip drip effect.. they may just inspire you to think differently about a situation, they might give you an insight, or remind you that the problem isn’t as big as you have made it.
I call this update Small but Mighty” because sometimes these small exercises or actions or break in a thought pattern can actually have a huge effect. You see we often use 80% effort and it brings 20% results, yet a smaller 20% of new, insightful, different activity and effort could actually bring 80% of the results! Confused?.. thats perfect.. confusion and curiosity are the first steps to accessing your biggest “lean mean learning machine” ie your unconcious mind – the awareness of which and communication with allows us to access all our unlimited sources of help, our inner manual to life and our inner wisdom.

Second Child: “One bite at a time!”

Second Child: “You can start anywhere.. just START!”
Where can I start?
In coaching the first thing we often do is set a SMART goal ….Smart goals and GROW model I am attaching a worksheet – just click on the orange/underlined phrases to access resources..so this exercise is one you can easily go through by yourself or with a buddy. It could be in response to an area of your life where you would like to improve things – pick something easy and within your control. My personal experience
Now for the juicy and controversial part about goal setting… and my personal story… I used to think life “happened to me”, I was in a difficult relationship and marriage for nearly 10 years. I thought my husband would change but realised he wouldn’t and it took me a long time to find the strength to leave him. What helped me actually was Neuro Linguistic Programming and Life Coaching – that allowed me to re-build my life and move on from post divorce separation.
I was very actively setting goals especially as I was learning the art and became a life coach myself … so once i got very fluent with setting and achieving goals my life was all ship shape and in order and i became successful at creating my future.
There was a lot of other work apart from goal setting and thats where the other 101 tools of life coaching, NLP and Time Line Therapy (R) Techniques were super handy.
However, despite the success i experienced I actually got BORED.. yes can you imagine.. bored. Because yes, reality would arrive exactly how i had shaped it.. but there was no magic, no surprise and no delight…
No doubt the journey has been truly wonderful as I unravel and integrate the obstacles that any dynamic person or seeker tends to find… i have learnt so much about myself that it has become more exciting than international travel.. seriiously!!
But i still was left wondering.. isn’t there more to life than just designing it? and how come i still feel a little “flat”? I researched further, I managed to have a really magical and enlightening bucket list trip to Japan and I also attended some magical workshops and as I continuted this journey I had some HUGE insights… and I will share these in my update NEXT MONTH!!!
I will also share more tools and answer any questions that you have…

Am doing the Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron – highly recommend this – it will stretch out out of your comfort zone and towards the best most adventurous, peaceful and happy YOU!
- Visit an artist’s supply shop.
- Spend some time outdoors with your journal, sketchbook, craft supplies, etc.
- Go for a walk, and take your camera with you to document the experience.
- Stop by the library, and check out some CDs.
- Set a timer, and spend an hour working on something you’ve been putting off.
- Create an artist’s workspace in your home.
- See an Oscar-nominated movie or a foreign film.
- If you don’t have an artist’s blog, start one.
- Visit a “creative” shop that has nothing to do with what you actually do–an art supply store, a fabric shop, a music store.
- Grab a stack of magazines, and clip whatever looks interesting or cool to create your own inspiration board.
- Support the local arts scene. Go to a local festival, music event, art show, play, museum exhibit, etc.
- Plant something. Start your own herb garden. Butterfly garden. Plant a tomato or some…
